Kids Half Term Cookery : Herb Explorer
After our Easter “Spice Explorer” adventures, we’re turning our culinary magnifying glass to the wonderful world of herbs this May half term. In these fun, hands-on cookery workshops, young chefs will sniff, taste and cook with a selection of herbs that are easy to grow at home in a pot. Everyone will also plant their own herb seed to take home and nurture.
In all of our family and kids food learning classes we learn age-appropriate knife skills, explore seasonal vegetables, and are inspired by recipes and ingredients from different cultures. After cooking our meal together, we end the class with a communal meal at the table overlooking the Museum’s courtyard garden.
Kids class: Age guide 9-13+ years
Sample Menu
- Herby bean burgers topped with Pesto, Sweet Potato Wedges, Carrot & Herb Salad
- Lemon & thyme muffins
For these sessions children aged 9+ may attend the session without parental supervision, but we do ask parents to stay on-site at the Museum (gallery/café) for the duration of the class.
We keep a small number of free spaces available for each class to ensure that families for whom the ticket price would be a barrier can still attend. To apply for a free spot, please email us at ceri@gardenmuseum.org.uk
