Off to Uni Cookery Workshop
Wednesday 9 & Thursday 10 September 2026
Off to university this September? Come and join us in the Learning Kitchen for a two day cookery workshop in the basics. Through fun, hands-on cookery workshops, we'll discover how to make a small number of budget nutritionally balanced meals that will keep you nourished throughout your first weeks at uni and beyond.
Age guide 18+
Sample Menu Day 1
Chilli sin carne and rice, with salsa and cooling yoghurt
Tinned sardine/ tuna puttanesca pasta (vegetarian option available)
Peanut butter oaty choc chip energy balls
Sample Menu Day 2
Spicy dal with a fried egg
Greens macaroni cheese and slaw
Banana breakfast muffins
As well as learning to follow the above recipes you will learn tips on;
- Basic knife skills and safety in the kitchen
- Batch cooking
- Food safety for storing food
- Budgeting tips
In all our food learning classes we explore seasonal vegetables, and are inspired by recipes and ingredients from different cultures. After cooking our meal together, we end the class with a communal meal at the table overlooking the Museum’s courtyard garden.
You can book into one or both classes, and end up with double the repertoire!
Please select a separate ticket for each day. The tickets are £20 per person per day and include lunch and a portion of food to take home.
